Writer and Moviemaker

I've written nine novels -- three science fiction and six mysteries of the Collinsville Crime Series. I'm currently preparing these novels for publication through IngramSpark under Wordsmyth Books, LLC.
For details:  wordsmythbooks.com (site under construction).

My college thesis was a science fiction novelette, later expanded into Time Tracks. I took a correspondence course from Writer's Digest during which I developed the first chapter of Mars Material. My third science fiction novel, Clone Rebel, went through a number of versions.

While science fiction was my first love, I also found myself reading mysteries. I delved into crime fiction and wrote six novels set in the fictional college town of Collinsville, Colorado. Each book features a different main character in the local law enforcement community.

I've also written 22 short stories. Five are science fiction and will be published in a book entitled "SF Stories," which includes my near-future novella, The Test of Time. The other 17 -- a wide variety of subjects and styles -- will be published in a book entitled "Seventeen Short Stories."

Three stories were published in anthologies. You can purchase these books, which contain many stories by many different authors, by following the links below:
"Sim Survivor," a science fiction piece, is included in JayHenge Publishing's anthology, AI, Robot.
My historical action-romance "Seafrog" was selected for the Pikes Peak Writers Anthology, Journeys into Possibility.
"Intercession," a modern drama, is included in the TulipTree anthology, Stories That Need to be Told.

If you'd like to read samples of my writing, click on the link Short Stories. Three stories are available:
"What To Do About Mom," addressing the dilemma of possibly choosing euthanasia for an elderly person in end-of-life coma.
"Little Lies," a drama about stuffing emotions until they explode.
"Alice in Amsterdam," fictionalized memoir of when I visited one of the world's most libertine cities in 1975, keying off Alice in Wonderland.

As a longtime member of Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers, Pikes Peak Writers, and Lighthouse Writers Workshop, I usually attend their annual conferences and have taken hundreds of their seminars and classes. I participated in a screenwriters' workshop for twelve years and a novel critique group for two. And I've served as a judge for several contests.

I see all of my longer fiction as movies and established a motion picture company, Stage One Productions, Inc. -- Where Imagination Mingles with Matter (R).  I've written, directed and produced two shorts and two mid-length video dramas and am raising money to shoot my first feature, Bono-Boy, about a genetic cross between human and bonobo, written with input from Chad Michael Crawfurd.
I've written two other original screenplays: Headlock, about a dyslexic college wrestler, and Booth People, a comedy about staffers in an exhibit hall at a convention, created in collaboration with Kevin J. Morton.
